Water Bubble

Image
Down under, happened a snuggle, It was just a matter of time, There was a water bubble, Result of the twine. Time passed deep in the blue, having fun, Chill running down the spine, asking to run. In pursuit of becoming a paragon of virtue, Struck a thought, I'm just a naive bubble with experience being due.  Setting a goal and sky as the limit, Inner voice said 'It's my time and I'm gonna swim it.' Entering the wild, with the things going mild, Facing the challenges, unraveling the savages, Having been at the top for a while now... Facing dents and scratches throughout, Candid was just a word, bubble had become a suave now.  There came a transition phase causing an havoc. Deep blue turning pale, racing against time, Was it just a story tale, with sky high limit being a crime? Floating on the surface, engrossed in thoughts, Striving to get over the surface and move towards the sky, Sun kissed for a while, blush...

Ambiverts

“Sometimes social, sometimes solitary, not an Introvert, not an Extrovert, you may be an Ambivert.” In respect to introverts and extroverts, most humans are like batteries. An introvert is one who needs down time to recharge, especially after spending time with a large amount of people. An extrovert is like a solar powered battery: it draws energy from being in the spotlight and feeds off the companionship of other people. The vintage characteristic of an introvert isn’t necessarily being shy, it’s just that they don’t extract enough energy from the surroundings as the extroverts do. This has got to do with our brains. “A study in 2012 completed by Randy Buckner of Harvard University discovered that introverts tended to have larger, thicker gray matter in their prefrontal cortex — a region of the brain that is linked to abstract thought and decision-making — while extroverts had less gray matter.” Get Less Energy From People : Most of us feel that our tra...

Distorted

Was I wrong? Maybe. But mom wasn’t right either! She let him go late at night, And not even let me wear that skirt. I said its 21 st century ma! Worlds changed out there, And I am still locked in my room. All that she said was, “Only in your fictional novels, girl!” Torn between education and society, My cheeks flushed pink with anger inside, I banged the front door and left to be a free bird, I felt like something changed in me, That one glass of wine turned me into a woman from mumma’s little girl. And I never realized when that twinkle disappeared, The place turned unknown, With everything blurred, I still maintained my composure. Walking home barefooted, On a rainy day, drenched in guilt, With the words stinging, “You don’t know the world little girl, You are just like a deer in a world full of wolves.” But was I wrong? Maybe, But mom wasn’t right either! by:  Ruddhi Shah

Yet, that's where we want to fit in

Image
We say aim higher, But are asked to satisfy with what we have. We say people who cry are strong, Yet we ask them not to cry. We say we are open minded, But still want a girl and a guy to be married. We say we respect animals, But consider our servants as slaves. We donate, But cut on our employee's salaries. We consider ourselves rich, But won't even give a hand to help. With our tongues ready to shoot, We say we support non violence. We are out casted when we don't follow society, But belong to them when we climb higher on a success ladder. We smile on their face and stab on their back. How spineless is our society? Yet,   that's where we want to fit in.       -by:  Ruddhi Shah

Blast from the past for the future cast

It is said that when in doubt, take a pause, look out and if needed do not hesitate to take a step back because stepping back doesn't always mean defeat. It is always better to give a little time rather than taking a wild decision and regret later. " The lion always takes a step back before pouncing on its prey. " Lion, in spite of being one of the laziest animals everyone wants to be a lion. It is because people have a really good image of the king. No matter how good other animals are, lions are the best, if you want to set high expectations from anyone. Most of the times we have lions, tigers, elephants, monkeys and other animals setting up pretty good examples, but last night it was an ant that actually taught me the same lesson that the lion did in the previous context. Generally we look up to ants as an example when the talk  is about ' Never Give Up ', but we can actually have a different perspective of the same, where let's assume an ant ...

THE UNSPOKEN QUAGMIRE OF NEGATIVITY!!

It is all too easy to fall into unhealthy patterns of thought, but visualizing your inner critic can help... I often wonder whether we are to blame ourselves for all the problems that come our way or our stars?? Is it the lack of luck or just pure dedication and the courage to dream and not stop till you get somewhere? Why do we think negatively when we know better? I can't fathom what leads a man to be so negative that he forgets what an amazing person he is. Phoenix rises from the ashes, lotuses grow in muck, people lose their limbs and their lives to deadly diseases while we crib over just a few speed breakers life sets out on our path. I don't want to see people quit just because they have been fighting for too long. Because thinking negatively, expecting “the worst,” seeing the downside of positive situations, and even downright expecting failure, all convey a kind of backwards-thinking, emotional insurance policy.  It goes something like, “If I expect a tragedy, t...
